O.Z. Tyler Distillery Joins the Kentucky Bourbon Trail
O.Z.Tyler Distillery, located in Owensboro, Kentucky, is officially becoming a destination on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail on June 1, 2018.
The Kentucky Bourbon Trail destinations include Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam, Bulleit, Four Roses, Town Branch, Wild Turkey, Evan Williams, Heaven Hill and Woodford Reserve. The trail lets you experience the bourbon making process, learn about the recipes, view the facilities, and taste some of the best Kentucky Bourbon.
To celebrate O.Z. Tyler joining the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and being recognized as one of the eleven distinguished distilleries committed to preserving the rich Kentucky tradition of Bourbon making, the community is invited to the Distillery on June 4 for a ceremony at 2 pm to commemorate the milestone.
Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson, along with Congressman Brett Guthrie, Master Distiller Jacob Call and County Judge Executive Al Mattingly, will plant an American White Oak tree to memorialize the distinction. Kentucky’s white oak trees are used to make staves for whiskey barrels. The planting of the tree will be followed by a congratulatory Bourbon toast and tours of the distillery will be available.
“O.Z. Tyler is excited to be an official stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail tour and we anticipate more visitors coming to the Distillery and to Owensboro,” said Master Distiller Jacob Call. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to see our historic facility that is so steeped in tradition, yet integrated with innovation that makes the O.Z. Tyler Distillery unique.”
